If your visa has expired (or will expire soon) there is free and confidential help for you in Australia. 

The Australian Government offers a special service to help visa holders in Australia, including international students, if your visa is expiring or has expired.

Get help through the Status Resolution Support Service

The Status Resolution Support Service (SRSS) is designed to help you understand your visa options. The service is confidential and separate from the Australian Border Force.

Through this service, you can:

  • Get accurate information about your visa options.
  • Speak confidentially with a Status Resolution Officer.
  • Receive guidance on whether you may be able to apply for a visa, or how to plan a departure from Australia.
  • Ask for an interpreter if you need one.

Book an appointment online

You can now request an appointment online. This makes it easier to take the first step and get clear, trusted advice. Request an appointment here.

Appointments can be:

  • online, or
  • in person at community events held in metropolitan and regional areas.
