I am studying Bachelor of Linguistics and Language Sciences at both Nantong University in China and Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. I’m making the most of the opportunity to study in my home country and in Australia, learning from two high quality universities in the one-degree program.
I was drawn to this program because of its unique design, the academic excellence of the program and the distinctive advantages of choosing Macquarie University.
It allows me to study with two universities in two countries and enjoy the best of both academic environments.
As a linguistics student, it is also my absolute pleasure to study in Macquarie’s distinguished linguistics program and enjoy its world-class curriculum and facilities. Moreover, Macquarie University fosters a supportive environment that nurtures students academically, professionally, and personally.
I am thrilled to learn in this environment. Being the unique part of such a vibrant community is always exciting. After all, as is often famously quoted, “YOU to the power of us.”
The program is incredibly multicultural and multilingual. It allows me to learn from students of diverse backgrounds while contributing my own identity and perspectives.
Academically, this vibrant environment encourages me to learn humbly, explore eagerly, and, most importantly, think globally.
Beyond academics, the program also fosters independence and a commitment to self-directed and life-long learning.
It is designed not just to impart knowledge but to empower students to independently seek knowledge. It also encourages students to understand who I am and who we are—this is what is uniquely advocated in the Australian program and at Macquarie University.
