  • An exploration of key test parameters including reliability, validity and ethical considerations. 
  • A demonstration of how to integrate test results into careers guidance practice to move beyond scores into meaningful dialogue. 
  • The sharing of practical examples of application across diverse groups. 
  • An introduction of emerging trends, such as digital delivery, AI-enabled tools and implications for CPD.

Speakers

Dr Siobhan Neary

Dr Siobhan Neary is the Academic Director of careerED Academy and brings over 30 years’ experience in career development. She has worked as a career practitioner, trainer, manager, lecturer, and researcher, giving her deep insight into how to equip young people with the skills and confidence to navigate their future pathways. Siobhan has shaped national and international approaches to careers education, including contributing to the development of the widely adopted Gatsby Benchmarks. She works with governments, schools and organisations to enhance career guidance practice and is the author of CPD for the Career Development Professional.

Dr Alexander Whitelock-Wainwright

Dr Alexander Whitelock-Wainwright is a psychometrician and data scientist with over 6 years of consulting and research experience. He holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of Liverpool and specialises in Item Response Theory modelling, assessment design and validation, and predictive analytics. His expertise spans advanced statistical and modern data science techniques using R, Python, and SQL. Alex has worked across government recruitment, corporate learning, management consulting, higher education, and HR technology, giving him unique cross-sector insights into talent assessment and employee engagement solutions.
