How to update your Course Search listing

This guide helps you keep your education provider, course and scholarship information up to date on the Study Australia Course Search directory.

About the Course Search directory

Austrade has partnered with Year13 Pty Ltd to deliver the Study Australia Course Search directory. This tool supports international students in exploring Australian study options and delivers prospective student leads directly to Australian education and training providers.

To maintain a high-quality database, Year13 sources and verifies provider, course, and scholarship information against official registers and provider websites.

The ACIR

Year 13 manages a database called the Australian Course Information Register (ACIR).

All registered Australian education and training providers have an ACIR account. Your provider’s account comes pre-loaded with course information, which informs listings on the Study Australia Course Search directory.

Courses are only published on the Study Australia website when they are attached to one or more of your campuses and have a valid CRICOS code.

The ACIR database allows you to:

  • edit your education provider contact details
  • curate course information
  • update scholarship listings.

For ACIR platform support, contact Year13 at info@acir.com.au.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

If your organisation has a registered CRICOS code, your profile and course information will be pre-loaded into ACIR. If it is not listed, contact Y13 at info@acir.com.au

Year13 assigns an account holder for each education provider in ACIR, based on information from the CRICOS register and your organisation’s website. This contact person can then claim access to the organisation’s account.

If contact details are incorrect or outdated, contact Y13 at info@acir.com.au

Account holder by subsector:

  • Higher Education:  Usually staff involved in curriculum management, communications and marketing.
  • VET and RTOs: Typically, the person(s) listed in your registration details on www.training.gov.au
  • Schools: Typically, the registrar or principal.
  • ELICOS: Usually staff involved in curriculum management, communications and marketing.
  • For new, non-self-accrediting providers: Y13 will identify an appropriate contact from your website.

How to claim access:

  • If you are the account holder, submit your details on the ACIR website. You will be prompted to create a password to access your organisation’s account.
  • If your details do not match an existing record, submit your details via www.acir.com.au/register and Year13 will contact you. If your request is not processed within 24 hours, contact Y13 at info@acir.com.au.
  • Multiple Users: More than one person can be attached to an ACIR account. Register additional users via www.acir.com.au/register.

The enquiry email address is sourced from your website and pre-loaded into ACIR. This is typically a publicly listed email address for international student enquiries.

If a bounce notification is received, after a student submits an enquiry submission, Y13 will verify and contact your organisation to confirm or update the email.

No. Higher education courses are updated through a 3-step process. They are:

  1. verified against the TEQSA register to ensure all providers are listed
  2. matched monthly against the CRICOS registry, to verify international accreditation
  3. checked against education provider’s website to capture course details.

If a newly registered course is missing from ACIR, it will be detected against CRICOS and added to your account. You will then need to provide additional details (For example, course description, majors, delivery locations) via your ACIR account.

Year13 strives to maintain accurate course data. But due to discrepancies between CRICOS and provider websites or inconsistencies in how providers present course data, we recommend regularly reviewing your account for accuracy.

You can update campus locations directly via ACIR. If you encounter issues, contact Year13 at info@acir.com.au  for assistance.

Study Australia only uses ACIR data relevant to international students. Other platforms, such as The Good Universities Guide, displays and distinguishes international and domestic audiences. Eg, tuition fees are labelled as either domestic or international.

Note: You only need to ensure CRICOS codes are correct assigned, and scholarships are tagged accordingly.

ACIR is the single source of truth for your listings on the Study Australia Course Search directory and other linked platforms.

If you do not update your account, Year13 will still strive to keep your details as accurate as possible based on publicly available information.

We highly recommend reviewing and updating your ACIR account at least monthly.
